We were born into this amazing world complete.
Perfect.
A clear blank page; our story waiting to be told.
We were told to dream big,
Set our sights on breathtaking goals,
And believe anything was possible.
Then life happened.
The unintentional thoughts pushed out the hopes and destroyed the dreams.
We began to believe we were “less than”,
And began to fill our minds with the fear of failure,
Fear of success;
Fear of being judged;
And, at the same time, the fear of being invisible;
Our hopes were snuffed out, and our dreams destroyed.
We began to exist in scarcity.
We didn’t have enough:
Enough time;
Enough love;
Enough money;
And that we were not enough;
That we were somehow lacking.
We began overeating;
Overspending;
Over drinking;
Overworking;
Without seeing that what we were actually doing was to avoid feeling.
Because we are afraid to feel,
Afraid to love ourselves on purpose.
We begin to work on our thoughts.
It’s like a veil is lifted,
Our demons get demolished.
To do the thought work and see the circumstances, that we believe to be our sparring partner, to simply be neutral.
If we want to be able to fully embrace this crazy thing called life
That is filled with passion, sadness, laughter and dreams;
To live intentionally;
To be present in every moment;
We come to understand that our time on earth will be 50/50.
That we won’t be happy all the time.
And that’s okay.
It gives us comparison and perspective.
So we make a commitment to show up,
even in the hard times,
the bad times,
the sad times
To roll with the punches
Knowing we will be just fine.
When we’re not afraid to fail forward,
we grow and when we grow we begin to believe in our future selves.
If we do the work that inspires us,
we begin to change lives
not only ours but those around us.
We are prepared to do the life-changing, mind-bending work.
We get to decide who we are and how we want to show up;
How we act rather than react;
And feel all the feels;
Knowing it was only ever our thoughts getting in our way.
And, in doing so we see that the world is ours for the taking.
